About

“Art is a conversation between the artist and their creation. I don’t plan my pieces because then there’s no room for growth during the creative process.”

MODI

Modi is a Seattle based, born, and raised painter, illustrator, designer, digital artist, cinematographer, and general artist who strives to pursue the abstract corers of his mind to find the beauty that lies within his subconscious imagination. His art is free-flow, that is to say unplanned and directly from his imagination to the page. This, is his words, allows him to “not be limited by my conscious imagination, and instead only be limited by the very depths of my subconscious imagination. As I always find the best results when I surprise myself. So I may start with a very rough idea, or maybe just an occupation, or just a head shape, and then allow the piece to create itself as I work on it, like a conversation”.

Modi decided when he was 9 years old that art was going to be his profession, and he has been striving ever since to make that a reality. When he was in highschool he made sure to take advantage of every art and creative class that his school had to offer, studying fine art, graphic design, sculpture, 3d modeling, and many other subjects. After highschool he decided to attend The University of San Francisco where he majored in design with a minor in fine arts and got his first job at The Graphics Center where he created deign collateral for the school organizations and companies and individuals outside of the school. After graduation he lived in San Francisco for a couple more years working as a graphic designer. In that time he learned that graphic design was not the right route for him and decided to return to Seattle to try and get his art career off the ground.

After his return to Seattle he set about trying to figure out his unique style for his independent work while also working as a digital artist for a custom artwork company in the SODO area. During the quarantine lockdown Modi decided to take his final step to realizing his dreams and left the company to pursue independent art full time and now runs a clothing line, creates art content on YouTube, sells his original work, and works on commissions for people all around the world.
